Standardised reading tests  have been around for many years - in fact the Burt reading test dates back to 1938.

At my school we were using a paper based system to assess and track reading age and standardised scores which was laborious and to be honest a bit of an admin nightmare. Se we got to thinking about setting up an online reading test  system that would automatically mark tests and track performance.
