Building on the success of Star Struck with our pupils we have gone down the web 2.0 route, trying to create an expandable social network rather than a static resource - and we love it ! We have used the Joomla content management system to build this so it is a fully flexible resource.

You can see a demo version here.

The demo version is refreshed every hour so don't be afraid to experiment with editing from the front end or getting adventurous with the admin section. **In the demo a number of backend features have been disabled for security reasons.

To edit pages just log in as admin and click on  next to the page titles - there are loads more of control features available in a backend admin interface when you sign up for a subscription (see below)

We have purchased our own dedicated server for this project and it is costing us an arm and a leg so we are offering your very own installation of Star Struck 2.0 as a subscription package for you to edit, develop and expand - please get in touch for details.

Each subscription to Star Struck 2.0 comes with the following features :

Pupils' work upload- my pupils love this ! They use Star Struck 2.0 to upload a screenshot of their best work.
Registration - pupils register and can then vote, upload & more.
Secure - each subscription is provided with a username and password to keep out unwanted guests.
The charts !! Pupils can vote on each others work and a Top 10 is produced. We have found this an amazing tool for celebrating achievement and enthusing pupil's to do their very best - to top the charts is an honour and it really gets those boys competing !
Pupil's can vote, add each other as buddys or add best work to their favourites.
Approval - pupils images can be approved by teachers (off by default)
Comments - pupils can comment on each other's work (off by default)
Easy editing by teachers - once a teacher logs in they can edit each task in a WYSIWYG editor, giving the teacher the power to suit content to their SOW / pupils.
News feeds & links - found good newsfeeds or links ? Add them with ease
Latest news feature - again easily editable by teachers
Vids, loops & tunes - available for download - if you want to add more you can upload them with the "media manager". You can even add audio / video files pupils have made and want to share.
An "Admin" backend - You can easily add more menus, more tasks, a poll and loads more - there is no limit as to how far you can take your Star Struck.

FAQ : 

Is this the same Star Struck project sold by teachict.co.uk?

Nope - it is a different product. The teach-ict.com version (for sale on their site) was co-developed with Debbie Jones. Although this joint version bears the same name, that is as far as the resemblance goes. It is a completely different product which has been developed from scratch and is not available as a free upgrade - you must purchase it from teach-ict.com if you are interested in it.
